A Day of Fun and Netball

Every Wednesday, the students of Gallagher Combined School look forward to their trips to Rabie Ridge Stadium. Here, they get to play netball and enjoy a day filled with fun. This weekly event is a highlight for the students, giving them a chance to build skills, make friends, and create lasting memories.

The Journey to Rabie Ridge Stadium

Wednesdays start with excitement as the students board the bus to Rabie Ridge Stadium. The ride is full of chatter, laughter, and anticipation. For many, it’s not just a break from routine but a chance to play the sport they love.

The Atmosphere at the Stadium

Rabie Ridge Stadium has state-of-the-art facilities and a welcoming environment. The large courts and well-kept grounds provide plenty of space for practice and play, creating an atmosphere of enthusiasm and energy.

The Netball Matches

Netball is the main event, and the students eagerly participate in friendly matches each week. Teams are formed across different grades, promoting inclusivity and teamwork. The matches are competitive yet friendly, with students showcasing their growing skills and understanding of the game.

Teamwork and Sportsmanship

One of the most valuable lessons learned during these sessions is the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship. Students cheer for each other, celebrate victories, and offer support during challenges. This spirit of teamwork is a testament to the positive environment at Gallagher Combined School.

Fun and Games Beyond Netball

While netball is the highlight, the day also includes other activities that add to the fun. Students enjoy picnics on the stadium grounds, play informal games, and bond with their peers. These moments of relaxation and play are crucial for their overall well-being and happiness.

  1. I’ve watched my grandchildren play soccer and netball at their respective school events and have been very disappointed by the low standards of play.
I was at the stadium on that particular Wednesday and it was great to see that, not only were all sports played with enthusiasm, but the educators were taking the trouble to coach the players, when it would have been so much easier just to let them get on with the games and learn nothing.
