GCS IT Learners Visit UJ for their Annual Projects Day
On Wednesday, 16th October 2024, the Grade 10 and 11 Information Technology (IT) learners from Gallagher Combined School visited the University of Johannesburg (UJ) Academy of Computer Science and Software Engineering. This visit aligned with the highly anticipated UJ Projects Day, an annual event celebrating its 35th year, showcasing innovative projects by UJ’s top students.
Hands-On Learning at UJ’s Projects Day
Our learners engaged with the UJ students, asking insightful questions, and gaining a firsthand understanding of how theoretical concepts translate into practical solutions.
Collaboration and Mentorship in Software Engineering
Our learners witnessed firsthand how students, guided by university mentors and sponsored by industry professionals, work together to design and implement high-quality software solutions.
For our IT learners, who are working on their own year-long projects, seeing this level of teamwork and mentorship was inspiring.
