Which School in Midrand has the smallest classes?
Whilst there are a number of remedial schools in Midrand with class sizes limited to between 12 and 18 learners with special needs, there are some schools with over 40 children in a class.
Gallagher Combined School have limited their class size to 25 so that a grade of 26 learners is then split into two classes of 13 each.
Not only does this ensure that each learner receives individual attention, it also, coincidentally, made it easier to comply with Covid19 social distancing protocols, which have since been relaxed.
We are, however, feeling some strain on the number of classrooms available, and are aware that we may soon have to settle the higher grades into an additional nearby building. But we are first engaging architects to review the school layout with a view to utilising the floor space more effectively.
